MOLLY's CONCERT A MUSICAL TREAT

Image
Molly Mitchell and an array of her very talented friends treated an audience of some one hundred music lovers to a varied programme of classical, folk and pop music on Saturday 9th March in Freeland Church.

Delighting their audience with a wonderful display of their musical expertise and versatility the young musicians were performing to support Molly in her fundraising efforts.

The concert had been arranged to raise funds towards Molly's planned mission trip to Rwanda with Urban Saints and SU this summer.

She expressed her sincere gratitude to the audience and all who had contributed to the event for the boost of over £900 to her funds.

A Fond Farewell To Derek

Image
The service on Sunday morning, 27th January, was conducted in the minister's absence by Rev. Derek Peat. This was Derek's last Sunday with us and Graeme Harris, Session Clerk, thanked him warmly for his contribution to Freeland's work and witness during the previous 8 months. Making a presentation of a book and thank you card to Derek, Graeme praised his diligence, his preaching and his pastoral support during his time with us. He expressed the hope shared by the whole church family that Derek would soon be called to his own first charge and wished him every future blessing. Derek will be acting as locum in Glenburn Church for the next few months during their vacancy.

Sunday School Nativity

Image
Sincere thanks to all the children in the Sunday School, Lynx and Cornerstone and their leaders for re-enacting the Christmas Story during Morning Worship on Sunday 16th December. All their hard work and rehearsals were so worthwhile as they reminded us so vividly of the precious gift of Jesus, our Saviour.

Weather Kind To Carollers

The rain stayed away as 20 of us gathered in the Piazza on Saturday morning, 15th December to sing a medley of favourite and familiar Christmas carols.
Afterwards we returned to the church for a most welcome mug of hot soup.
